His agency, BLA Entertainment, confirmed the news, stating, “The exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed.” It was noted, however, that Choi had been battling panic disorder and depression in recent years.

“My first wife registered our marriage without my knowledge,” he said. His second marriage, arranged by his parents, also ended in divorce, during which he gave up all his assets.

Speaking of his current marriage, he humorously added, “I’m under the thumb of my wife, who’s 11 years younger than me.”
